Remix Therapeutics is a Series A company who has developed a suite of proprietary platform technologies that transform our ability to design and develop therapeutics that can selectively modulate various steps of RNA processing biology.

The Director of Program Management will play an instrumental role in the strategic planning and execution of programs spanning late lead optimization through IND-enabling and early stages of clinical development. This highly cross-functional position requires broad knowledge across all facets of drug discovery and development, including preclinical research, translational sciences, clinical operations, CMC, regulatory, and quality assurance. To be successful the person in this role must have command over the strategy and supporting activities, risks, contingencies, and alternatives, and proactively manage daily program/project management activities. The ideal candidate has strong communication and influencing skills, ensuring that all team members understand priorities, objectives, deliverables, interdependencies, and timelines. The Director of Program Management will report into the Head of Program Management.


Position Responsibilities: 

Deliver consistent and high-quality program management services to enable team and project success by being strategic in project planning and team management

  • Establish and maintain detailed integrated program plans with input from all functions; engage in robust scenario planning for evaluation of alternatives
  • Monitor execution of program plan while providing visibility to progress versus timeline & changes to risk profile; communicate program status and issues to key stakeholders and senior management
  • Facilitate cross-functional planning of activities across departments and program teams to align dependencies, schedules, budget, and delivery commitments
  • Proactively identify potential risks, resource constraints, and conflicts that could impact project timelines; collaborate with the teams to develop appropriate solutions

Partner with Project Leads to set, monitor strategy and team goals in alignment with corporate goals

  • Help manage team interactions and ensure that input from appropriate team members is obtained to promote informed decision making. Build strong relationships with team members to create an environment of transparent communication, mutual respect, and trust 
  • Ensure roles and responsibilities are well-understood within the program teams to maximize forward progress on the program while maintaining alignment between and across functions
  • Play an important role in communication by leading face-to-face meetings, development of agendas, creation of meeting minutes, tracking of action items, and scheduling of follow-up meetings
  • Help prepare presentations for executive, board and functional leaders and teams

Work as part of a centralized Program Management function, contributing to cross departmental collaboration and continuous process improvement

Candidate Requirements:  

  • S, Ph. D degree in relevant life science discipline with at least 10 year industry experience in biotech and/or pharmaceuticals, and 5+ year experience in a program management managing cross functional teams in R&D 
  • Experience with IND filing and early-stage clinical programs, preferably within small to medium-size biotech; familiarity with ICH guidelines and GxP regulations
  • Demonstrated understanding and experience in drug development across all phases of the project lifecycle including initiation, budget planning and execution 
  • Exceptional analytical skills to evaluate the importance and urgency of problems. Highly flexible, with an aptitude to adjust to new information and translate into options and actions for others
  • Proven ability to interact efficiently with external collaborators (CDMO and/or CRO)
  • Highly organized, strong skills and enthusiasm for record-keeping, and able to support multiple projects simultaneously, outcome oriented, self-motivated performer 
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills 
  • Expert in project management tools (MS Project and/or Smartsheet, Sharepoint, Word, Power point, Excel) 
  • Ability to adapt to change in a growth environment
