Remix Therapeutics is a company focused on discovering modulators of RNA processing for undruggable disease drivers with the promise to bring new medicines to patients. We are developing a suite of proprietary platform technologies that transform our ability to design and develop therapeutics that can selectively modulate various steps of RNA processing biology. The company is financed by Atlas Venture, The Column Group, Foresight Capital, Arch Venture Partners, Casdin, and Alexandria Venture Investments.

Position Summary:

Remix Therapeutics is seeking an outstanding candidate for a Corporate Controller position to develop, lead and manage the accounting operations of the Company.  This position reports to the CBO/COO and is an opportunity to contribute significantly to a high profile, rapidly growing, biotechnology company. This position will be based in Boston, Massachusetts.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the accounting operations of the company including accounting records, policies, general ledger, control, and reporting
  • Ensure that the company’s accounting procedures and reported results conform to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements
  • Lead the effort to document technical accounting analysis and positions taken, managing external vendor assistance when applicable
  • Perform monthly closes including reconciliations of all balance sheet accounts
  • Manage and build out key processes including payroll, A/P, purchasing, banking, auditing, etc.
  • Manage vendors, financial institutions, and service firms (audit, tax, insurance, banking, etc.)
  • Take lead on preparing and readying the organization for SEC standards, including reporting, compliance, etc., as required
  • Build out reporting infrastructure to enable routine reporting that yields financial insights
  • Organize and prepare financial materials, presentations, and ad hoc requests
  • Oversee financial and legal controls in the company
  • Responsible for managing the cash-flow of the company and bank accounts and investments
  • Engage in system implementations as growth requires


  • BA/BS and CPA required
  • 12+ years accounting and biotechnology experience
  • SEC financial reporting experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to support a growing business
  • Ability to work in a small company environment and contribute to many different functions
  • Ability to toggle between hands-on detail work and strategic/critical thinking
